That's right. 15 months without a sip of alcohol!

Without a doubt, this has been one of my biggest accomplishments. If it ends here, (which it won't) I will always be proud of this number. Sobriety and living alcohol-free isn't easy in an alcohol obsessed world. It has been challenging learning willpower and overcoming all of the emotions that come with actually being stone-cold sober. I have felt more emotions in fifteen months than I have in my entire adult life. Strange right? It's an interesting experience when you don't have anything to immediately take the edge off.

And, to preface this conversation, I wasn't an alcoholic. I didn't drink every day. I never considered myself to have a problem or dependency on alcohol. I didn't drink at work functions and you would never find me hanging out in the bars on the weekends. I just didn't do any of those things that are flagged for someone who might have a drinking problem.

But, I did drink at home. I did overconsume on wine. And, I inevitably destroyed my mental health through this consumption. Many people don't share about their sobriety because they don't want people to think they have a problem. I'm way past the point of actually caring what others think of me and what I do. I want to share because if I can inspire ONE person to change their life for the better - my job is done. I will take the risk of looking bad to help someone else. The coolest part about all of this? I've had so many people message me about this one subject. It has brought a lot of us together in an incredible way.

I love seeing the new pages being turned and new chapters being written by badass people wanting to make a difference in their lives. And, in turn, helping others do the same. I love seeing this new movement of "sober curious".

If you're thinking about making a change, please feel free to reach out. I'm happy to share my journey and tips and tricks that have worked for me.

(Please note I am not a doctor and I do not have medical training - I can just share from personal experience)

Cheers to a new journey!
